Accudemia Suggestions

Hi Accudemia Users! Each Accudemia user can add requests and/or vote on existing requests. You can give each request 1 to 3 votes to reflect its importance. Note that each user is limited to 10 votes, so make sure to use your votes on your most important requests. Requests with more votes have higher implementation priority.

Important: Use your academic email address to vote. Those from generic addresses (such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, etc) will be removed. Voting multiple users from the same college will not give additional priority.

Thanks for sending us your feedback!

  1. We would like to be able to hide certain active services on the kiosk/sign-in screen. Some services do not need to be shown and students will never select those themselves while signing in, but those services must remain active because we still offer them, just not where the students will need to sign-in (we sign them in on the back end).

  2. It would be useful if when a tutor is blocked for a certain service, they can't be booked for a separate service in the same hour. For instance, a tutor gets booked for an online appointment and the max attendees is 3, currently the tutor can then get booked for face to face for the other 2 slots. This would be confusing and we would prefer to separate to make it easier on the tutees and tutors. We would still like to offer those times for both face to face and online, but have the tutor be bookable strictly for…

  3. The ability to limit an instructor from accessing visits reports would be awesome. We currently send the data at the end of the semester, but do not want them to have constant, unlimited access to this data. Additionally, they have access to see all students that are in the system, not just their own students. While they cannot pull center usage for students not enrolled in their course, they should not have access to full student data (names and ID numbers).

  4. I suggest you implement a health indicator that summarizes the status of all Outlook 365 integrations for tutors. Synchronization of tutoring appointments and free/busy time is key to a smooth experience for tutors and students alike. Prompt notification when a problem with Outlook 365 integration will allow center administrators to contact Accudemia support early on for prompt resolution.

  5. Under "Center Attendance" --> "Appointments" --> "View All" in the "Search" section on the left-hand side, currently you can select to see appointments for "Today" and "Yesterday" but in order to see appointments for tomorrow, you must select "Custom Range". Having a "Tomorrow" function would help when checking a tutor's availability.

  6. Whichever users is selected under user schedule isn't in the title so you know which user you are editing at a given point and time.

Would also be nice within schedule to be able to differentiate virtual availability and face to face availability

  7. In User Accounts->Extended Profile separate the checkboxes for "Show To Students" and "Show For Students".

It would be nice to let admins see some profile questions that are hidden from the students.

Same for the checkboxes for Tutors, Instructors and System Users.

  9. Hi! We just started using Accudemia, and many of the students have expressed confusion in what "reporting" means when they sign in for a tutoring session. Could it be reworded to "Would you like your instructor to know you visited tutoring today?"

    Thanks!

  10. For both types of restrictions (Student-Tutor Associations and Service-Subject Area Associations), it would be more functional if we could create negative restrictions rather than positive associations. I.e. if the default were that anything that didn't have an association was unrestricted, so that only the associations we actively create have an effect, and if associations could be set up for which courses a service would NOT work with and which tutors a student could NOT book. I want students to be able to book tutoring in the learning center for any course except for English, but in order to exclude the…

  11. Instead of importing users through batches with CSV files, it'd be great if your SSO implementation supported additional attributes and auto account creation. You could use this info to update existing users automatically upon their next login. Accudemia could also fill in information that's either missing or create a new accounts if there isn't a matching user.

  12. As center administrators, we spend all day using four or five of the functions in Accudemia to monitor and manage appointments. The functions we need exist in the system, but we do a lot of repetitive clicking that might be avoidable. Would Engineerica designers consider conducting a user study? I’m sure some administrators would be glad to record and narrate the interactions we have with the system over some minutes, and it could reveal ways to significantly enhance the everyday administrative experience in the system.

  13. We have Service types that we use internally but do not want students to see on the sign-in screen for walk-ins. We would like a way to hide these services so students do not get overwhelmed by options or choose the wrong service type upon sign-in.

  14. The message feature lets me specify a subject line ... but when the message goes out, that subject line isn't used. Instead the message subject says, "A message from So-and-so." Students are less likely to read if they don't know what the message is about. The subject input by the sender should be retained.
That's most important, but it would also be good to have style options like bolding and underlining (and best of all would be an html editor).

  15. Currently, you can specify subject area assignments for each tutor, but not assign tutors to services. This means that every schedule block for every tutor needs to be set manually when adding the schedule. This is time consuming and creates the probability that mistakes will be make, and students will end up booking appointments with tutors who can't help them. We should be able to specify service assignments for tutors, or at least specify a default when they create new schedule blocks, rather than it defaulting to all services.

  16. It's very difficult with the current setup to (a) keep tabs on tutor availability, since I can't see who's available for what (b) make sure everyone's schedule is set up properly - by default, tutors are made available for all services, and they often forget to change this setting when they post their availability, but to verify what services they are set up for, you have to click into every block of every person's schedule -- really a pain, esp. for those whose availability changes week to week

  17. Currently, you can only have one active survey, at a time. It would be helpful to have a survey specifically for the tutor to fill out.

  20. It would be great to have an "allow" button for Tutoring Assessments so that those of us who use them can choose to share them with students if we want to. Just like there's a button to share session logs, there should be one to share tutoring assessments with students. TAs are useful because we can report on them to instructors but, if we had the option to let students see them, we could share valuable information with them as well.
