Accudemia Suggestions

Hi Accudemia Users! Each Accudemia user can add requests and/or vote on existing requests. You can give each request 1 to 3 votes to reflect its importance. Note that each user is limited to 10 votes, so make sure to use your votes on your most important requests. Requests with more votes have higher implementation priority.

Important: Use your academic email address to vote. Those from generic addresses (such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, etc) will be removed. Voting multiple users from the same college will not give additional priority.

Thanks for sending us your feedback!

  2. Hi! We just started using Accudemia, and many of the students have expressed confusion in what "reporting" means when they sign in for a tutoring session. Could it be reworded to "Would you like your instructor to know you visited tutoring today?"

    Thanks!

  3. For both types of restrictions (Student-Tutor Associations and Service-Subject Area Associations), it would be more functional if we could create negative restrictions rather than positive associations. I.e. if the default were that anything that didn't have an association was unrestricted, so that only the associations we actively create have an effect, and if associations could be set up for which courses a service would NOT work with and which tutors a student could NOT book. I want students to be able to book tutoring in the learning center for any course except for English, but in order to exclude the…

  4. Instead of importing users through batches with CSV files, it'd be great if your SSO implementation supported additional attributes and auto account creation. You could use this info to update existing users automatically upon their next login. Accudemia could also fill in information that's either missing or create a new accounts if there isn't a matching user.

  5. The message feature lets me specify a subject line ... but when the message goes out, that subject line isn't used. Instead the message subject says, "A message from So-and-so." Students are less likely to read if they don't know what the message is about. The subject input by the sender should be retained.
That's most important, but it would also be good to have style options like bolding and underlining (and best of all would be an html editor).

  6. Currently, you can specify subject area assignments for each tutor, but not assign tutors to services. This means that every schedule block for every tutor needs to be set manually when adding the schedule. This is time consuming and creates the probability that mistakes will be make, and students will end up booking appointments with tutors who can't help them. We should be able to specify service assignments for tutors, or at least specify a default when they create new schedule blocks, rather than it defaulting to all services.

  7. It's very difficult with the current setup to (a) keep tabs on tutor availability, since I can't see who's available for what (b) make sure everyone's schedule is set up properly - by default, tutors are made available for all services, and they often forget to change this setting when they post their availability, but to verify what services they are set up for, you have to click into every block of every person's schedule -- really a pain, esp. for those whose availability changes week to week

  8. Currently, you can only have one active survey, at a time. It would be helpful to have a survey specifically for the tutor to fill out.

  10. It would be great to have an "allow" button for Tutoring Assessments so that those of us who use them can choose to share them with students if we want to. Just like there's a button to share session logs, there should be one to share tutoring assessments with students. TAs are useful because we can report on them to instructors but, if we had the option to let students see them, we could share valuable information with them as well.

  11. Given more and more schools have done away with the traditional snow day (or other days that are deemed to be remote when in-person tutoring would otherwise have occurred). It would be great to have an easy way to convert a schedule, on a particular day, from in-person to online.

  12. When Students go to make appointments online they are not really choosing a location but from one of several online services. It would be nice if they could see the tutors available at all centers for online services. If they could select the online service first to have Accudemia show all the available tutors for that online service that would be great.

  14. In the Appointment Details window, there are 10 labels. All except "Services:" are singular; that one item is plural. Please make it conform.
(Same problem in "Quick/New appt (admin)"; might also be an issue in email templates)

  18. Currently students choose the service first and then class. This is problematic because the student may not be allowed to do that service if its not available to their class. However, there is no message or explanation that comes up. It allows them to choose the service but then doesn't allow them to choose a class but with no explanation of why they can't choose their class. It would make more sense to choose the class first and then students would only see (and only be able to choose) services that are available to that class.

  19. It would be helpful to have a report that generates showing the weekly or daily tutor schedule in a printer friendly format that we could have available to hand out to students so they can see when a tutor is scheduled to be available.

  20. These filters would help generate department-specific reports (Nursing vs. Business, etc.) as well as easily help tutoring centers to identify unique visitors for just that department. We have a group of students who do two tutoring requests in different areas!
